Brazil is one of the hardest-hit countries in the world by the Coronavirus. As of now, the nation reports a total of 503,985 Coronavirus cases. People are finding it difficult to survive once they get infected. However, recent news has everyone on their toes. An infant has been fighting the coronavirus infection for days now. Dom, a 5-month-old Brazilian baby, was suffering from COVID-19 while in a coma. Today, after 32 days, he has finally won against the deadly virus and is out of the coma.
Dan has been on a ventilator for almost 54 days now. Dom is undergoing treatment at the Pro-Cardiaco hospital in Rio de Janeiro. Dom’s father, Wagner Andrade was hopeful that his son will pull through. Right now he is feeling emotions that he cannot express. The parents are currently taking care of Dom and doing everything they can to take care of the boy.

The baby may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus during a visit to a relative’s home. Andrade and his wife, Viviane Monteiro, say it was a “miracle” that Dom recovered. Dom will celebrate his 6-month birthday on June 14 at home with his parents, surrounded virtually by relatives. Research studies show the effect of the virus on newborn babies.
