Sweden is the only European country that didn’t follow the lockdown method to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Swedish government is so concerned about the economic downfall if it handles lockdown like other nations. This is the main reason behind this odd decision in Sweden. We all know that Coronavirus is spreading like a wildfire in the European countries but Sweden has other plans regarding this wildfire that is the corona.

 

It’s Prime Minister Stefan Lofven has tightened restrictions in recent days by limiting the gathering to 50 people. But still insists not to follow the herd if they don’t like it.

He says “We all, as individuals, have to take responsibility. We can’t legislate and ban everything. It is also a question of common sense. We who are adults need to be exactly that: adults. Not spread panic or rumors. No one is alone in this crisis, but each person has a heavy responsibility.”

Is Sweden So Ignorant of COVID-19?

It is also informed that the Swedish government believes in the responsibility of its citizens and trust that the affected people will isolate themselves from others.

In Sweden, the primary and preschools are still open as usual but the secondary and universities remain close. Most of the places like clubs, markets, malls, etc are still open.

The most important thing of all is recently the death rate of Sweden has rapidly kept on increasing due to their stubbornness in not following the lockdown system like other countries across the world.

It has reported that nearly 4,028 are affected by a coronavirus and 146 people have died from it in Sweden.

However, it is crystal clear Sweden is fiercely proud of its tag as the world’s “most free” country. But it is not immune from infection.
