Motorola is currently delivering a brand new flagship model after almost 3 years. The flagship smartphone market is currently under Samsung and OnePlus. But it looks like a lot is about to change with the launch of Motorola Edge+. As compared to the latest delivery by OnePlus, Motorola plays its cards well. In terms of camera both the phones use 108 MP resolution cameras. But it is the display factor that makes Edge+ stands out.
The phone comes with a curved 3D display along with an original version of Android OS as compared to OnePlus 8’s stock Android, Oxygen OS. Here is a slight comparison between Edge+, OnePlus 8 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Motorola Edge+ vs OnePlus 8 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
- Design
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro shows a pin-hole camera in its chassis as compared to Edge+’s punch-hole cameras. OnePlus also offers an IP68 certified water-resistant lens, which is better than Edge+s’ normal water repellency. But it is the screen segment where Edge+ wins hands down. The massive 19.5:9 ratio screen looks novel with curvy edges alongside a 3D camouflaged bezel. On the rear side, Motorola sports 3 rear cameras arranged in a top-down order without a hump. The Samsung Galaxy S20, on the other hand, has a big square-shaped box that looks more like a semi-DSLR than a phone. Another plus point for the Edge+ is the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack.

- Display
Here OnePlus 8 Pro beats all other competitors. Both, Edge+ and 8 Pro offers a 6.7 inch AMOLED display with high refresh rates to offer a smooth transition. Samsung only includes a SAMOLED screen on S20 Ultra with a 90hz refresh rate. But, OnePlus beats Motorola in terms of display resolution. OnePlus offers JNCD color calibration panel along with Quad HD+ display.

- Performance and Camera
Edge+ provides a next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, with 5G support, something which is missing from Samsung. Both, OnePlus 8 Pro and Edge+ max out an LPDDR5 12GB RAM along with a UFS 3.0 storage option. Both the phones sport an in-display optical fingerprint sensor.
Edge+ overdose in the segment of the camera and gives us a beastly optical performance. The main camera of Edge+ is 108-megapixel along with a big wide lens sensor of 1/1.3 inch. All of this comes with OIS assistance. OnePlus, on the other hand, provides the main camera of only 48-megapixel. Samsung has a nona binning technology, hence offers nine 12-megapixel cameras.
Motorola Edge+ comes with a power supply of 5000mah and claims 2 days of battery life in normal usage. But the 18W fast charge is not enough as compared to the standard 30W chargers. According to the company reports, this is their best ever flagship smartphone.
