Qualcomm announces new 5G Snapdragon 768G chipsets, promises to deliver powerful gaming performance for smartphones

Qualcomm

Qualcomm is about to release its most powerful gaming processor ever. In December 2020, the company launched a powerful smartphone line consisting of Snapdragon 765G processors. This was, however, a sideline to the most flagship processor Snapdragon 865, at that time. Almost 5 months after the events the company is back with an all-new G series of processors. Snapdragon 768G is the latest in the line and by far the most powerful processor built by the company. The ‘G’ denotes a CPU dedicated to gaming purposes.

The new gaming-centric processor is, however, close to 765G in terms of architecture design. Both share the same pin and software compatibility. The new processor is therefore compatible with all smartphones running the Snapdragon 765G chipset.

On top of this, the new chipset contains the all-powerful Adreno 620 GPU which spikes the graphic rendering performance by 15%. The processor uses a 7nm process and has a clock speed of 2.8Ghz. It also supports features like Wi-Fi 802.11x, X52 Modem, Bluetooth v5.2, Spectra 355 ISP, QHD display at 60Hz, and FHD display at 120Hz.
