According to recent studies, many medical organizations are planning to replace hydroxychloroquine with anti-HIV drugs. ICMR recently published an official announcement which says Kangra tea may act better than anti-HIV drugs in some cases. This is mainly because it helps boost human immunity and block COVID-19 activity better than many other drugs. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director at Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), put forward this fact in a recent webinar held to celebrate International Tea Day.
Kangra tea has many benefits in the fields of ayurvedic medicine. The medicinal properties of the tea in terms of human health is immense, and it can help fight COVID-19 disease with a little help.
Kangra Tea: ICMR suggestion against Hydroxychloroquine
Computer-based models show 65 bioactive chemicals or polyphenols which can bind to a specific viral protein more efficiently. It is more effective than commercially available anti-HIV drugs approved for treating Coronavirus patients. However, these chemicals may actually help block the activity of the viral protein that helps the virus to thrive inside human cells. CSIR is also considering to produce sanitizer using extracts from this plant.
Many institutes are already developing herbal soaps using tea extracts. These herbal soaps are good for your skin as they do not contain harmful chemicals like SDS and SLES. Tea vinegar is also another area where researchers are looking towards. Even if Hydroxychloroquine may help remove COVID-19, it is not a very hygienic drug. Scientists are yet to test the side effects of HCQ.
Kangra tea on the other hand is easily available and is very helpful in treating many symptoms. It is also proven to be of high ayurvedic value.
