Facebook recently launched the largest online voting campaign in the history of America. Mark Zuckerberg has currently set his goal to help at 4 million people register for upcoming elections. In 2016 also the campaign proved to be quite a success for the company as well as the nation.
Now the social media giant is aiming for double the number of people it helped register in 2018 and 2016. To make this happen, Facebook is building a Voting Information Center, which will include authoritative information on how to register and vote. However, it will also show how to request an absentee or mail-in ballot, based on a user’s state laws.

Facebook will put a link to the Voting Information Center at the top of people’s Facebook and Instagram feeds. Starting this summer the CEO will put in this location in hopes that most of its 160 million users in the US will see it. Mark Zuckerberg says that more than half of the people Facebook surveyed in the US said they need more information on how to vote in November than in previous elections.
In addition to announcing its new voter campaign, Facebook has also rolled out the ability to opt-out of seeing political ads. Starting today, users will be able to switch off ads that have the “Paid for by” political disclaimer on them. This means the company will no more force you political contents in your feed. So, you can easily opt-out from receiving any content from Donald Trump. This is very useful for many people as it will keep us away from many misinformation and rubbish claims.
